Trip Report Savannah and Kiawah trip report!

Jump to last reply

I found this forum so helpful when planning my trip. So I thought I would help others who may be planning the same trip. We drove from South Florida to Savannah. Stayed at the Hampton Inn in midtown. It was a short car ride to the historic district. I think staying in the historic district is over rated, too expensive, and not neccesary. It took us literally 7 minutes to drive to all the "action". You pay to stay in the historic district. The Hapmton Inn, was VERY nice, clean, and had a full breakfast. So if you are on a budget, stay midtown. We ate at Vinnie Van go's, great pizza, dog friendly! The next night we ate at Bubba's Oyster House. Very good food, and really nice people. They have Paula Deen's famous fried chicken there, and are dog friendly. We walked around River street and The Market area. It is a great town, but not as nice as Charleston, in my oppinion. We stayed 2 nights (plenty)
Drove 2 hours to Kiawah. It is beautiful there! We loved it. Stayed in West Beach. Quieter then east Beach. Lots of biking, walking, great weather. freshfileds market is fantastic, went there every day. You dont have to leave the area to get great food. Anyway, got questions, I am happy to answer!
