Saturday Brunch in New Orleans
Will be meeting family in New Orleans (adults only, no children) and want to make a reservation for Saturday Brunch before flying home that afternoon. Will be dining at Galatoires and Commanders Palace during our stay. Want this brunch to be special and memorable. Do we go back to Commanders or try some other wonderful restaurant. Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

My "fondest" memory of commanders was being seated upstairs and tripping over a napkin on the way into the dining room. The maitre'd had tripped on it too. When we left a couple hours later, we tripped on it again. No one could pick it up in all that time. It reflected our service for the entire evening. I know others will disagree, but Brennan's still impresses as long as you tell them from the start you want a leisurely brunch.

How about another Brennan place-- the lovely Palace Cafe? While I haven't been there their jazz brunch is supposed to be a little less "assembly line" than either Brennan's or Commander's Palace. And the place is stunning, especially on the balcony.
