Santa Monica, Loews or The Fairmont with teens

Planning on visiting in June. Would like any opinions on staying at one of these two hotels with 2 teens. Would like to be on the ocean and close to attractions. Any within walking distance from either of these hotels?? Thanks

Haven't stayed at the Loews. The Fairmont is a very nice hotel (funny, someone else has just asked about the very same hotel in another thread). It is half a block from the promenade, and maybe half a mile from the pier.

Hi,

Loews has a better pool and is closer to the beach. The Fairmont is on a cliff.

The Fairmont is closer (by a few blocks) to shops and restaurants.

The Fairmont Santa Monica on a cliff? I was there a couple of months ago, and it was right next to the beach! You just had to cross a street... Did someone move the place??
