Hi All! Going on a business trip to Santa Fe with Travels for Business. Arrive Albuquerque on Sat. and drive to Santa Fe. He has one full day on Sunday and says he doesn't want to drive anywhere - I mean, around Santa Fe is ok but not Taos. I have a couple days on my own before heading home on Wed. Got a Fodor's guidebook from the library and reading some trip reports.
Looking for suggestions for things to do and places to eat. Would like a nice dinner on Sat. night. I like to eat healthy - fish, vegetarian, salads are good. TFB likes upscale.
Definitely want to see the Georgia Okeefe museum but can always do it on my own Monday or Tuesday. Loretto Chapel? sounds interesting. Canyon Road? Spa?
Thanks so much.

We love going to the Santuario Chimayo (a little drive!) north/east of town, but you could also do it on your own. International Folklore Museum (one of our favorites) , and others on Museum Hill. The O'Keefe Museum is small, but lovely...great restaurant on site. For food we love
antacafe (very nice), Casa Sena is terrific, too (slightly less upscale). Cafe Pasquae is all it's said to be, if you can stand the wait.
SITE Santa Fe is the contemporary art space in the Railyard area, looked very cool and we were dying to see the Pae White installation, but was closed for their annual fundraiser when we were there. We thought the Musuem of Contemporary Native American Art was also good. Have fun!
Um, that smiley icon was not supposed to be in my post! Santacafe is the restaurant!
I love the Shidoni foundry for its sculpture garden, bronze pours and the glass blowing and other shops on site. It's a short drive from Santa Fe. The Compound is my favorite for upscale dining but there is lots of wonderful food in Santa Fe at lower price points. Most places will have a good salad and or vegetarian option. The O'Keefe Museum is wonderful, but save some time to explore some of the other museums and the shops in the old town. If you like hiking and nature, you might also enjoy Tent Rocks. Have a great trip! Saige
Thank you for the tips. O'Keefe Museum is definitely on my list. I think it is going to be a little cold for hiking. It was supposed to snow there Thurs., Friday and Saturday. 57 on Sunday.
There is a tapas restaurant on Canyon Road my husband wants to go to and I think they have a show on Sunday night. I am hoping it is flamenco.
If you're talking about El Farol, you can check their entertainment offerings on their website - www.elfarolsf.com
Mr. Pickle and I visited Shidoni last year and thought it was really interesting, especially watching them pour bronze. www.shidoni.com

Another restaurant thought - are you here right now? If so, Santa Fe Restaurant Week ends on Sunday. There are some nice restaurants offering specials. http://www.nmrestaurantweek.com/

There's no date here, so I don't know if you are coming or are here. Shidoni does pourings that visitors are welcome at on Saturdays. If you like salads, Vinaigrette is a great option- it's casual, but they have a wine bar. La Boca on Marcy Street is another tapas option and they sometimes have entertainment. The chef at Restaurant Martin was just nominated for a Beard Award.
There's tons to do in and around town. Galleries, museums, shopping and lots more and the upscale hotels have spas.
