Going to Sanibel for Presidents Week. What can I expect on average for daytime warmthness factor?? Will it be "beach" and swimming weather?? (New Yorker here). Thanks!

We used to go in March and it was usually on the breezy and chilly side. Of course, there was a day here and there where it was warmer, but it was usually not quite warm enough to swim.

Florida's weather is usually Summer all year long. Once in a while we get a cold front from Canada and cool off for a few days, then it heats up again. February is usually cooler, but there have been really hot, muggy days in some past years. It's the luck of the draw. You could ask your local weatherperson if they could do an analysis and predict what they think it might be in February. I did that when I took a trip to Alaska and the info was correct. Sanibel at any time of year is a wonderful place to be, and I have gone swimming during some February months, while other years it was downright cold. Good Luck!

Funny you should ask. Every year on President's Day we join two friends for a long lunch in Naples (figure the same weather). One year we were outside at Campiello and they turned on the overhead heaters, but we were still freezing. They turned up the heaters and then finally came out and had to turn them off. It seemed the heat was "melting" the sealant on the doors of the main dining room. The next year, we sat and dripped sweat at the exact same table. So the answer is to expect anything from 45 degrees to 85 degrees. It may be sunny or it may be cloudy. It is doubtful that it will rain, as that is the dry season.
Anybody who tries to be more specific is just making a guess.

We were there last year for that week , and the weather was quite warm. The water was a little chilly, but everyone was playing in it anyway, especially looking for shells. I think it was basically 70's, even in the low 80s a couple of days. At night it was a little chilly, but not too bad.
