Hello,
We are looking for a hotel recommendation for San Juan Capistrano for a smallish family reunion this winter. We'll need 4 rooms and our budget is up to $150 per room. Staying in SJC will allow some to arrive by train and others want to be near the ocean. The few places I have found on Trip Advisor seem to be based along the 5 freeway which doesn't sound appealing. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you

Ive had bad luck finding a place in SJC. Along the water in Capistrano Beach has a few good choices I havent tried, on business trips I usually stay at the Holiday Inn Express in San Clemente. I get the freeway access I need, its a quality hotel, and its elevated above the freeway so it doesnt have a freeway or city feel at all. Some rooms have ocean view, and you are only about a mile from the beach.
$150 in winter should make all of those choices possible
