Need to decide how to best travel from San Francisco to Three Rivers. Three young girls travelling (21 yrs old) to visit friends in Three Rivers. Need to find out which is better to travel via bus or train. Have friends in Three Rivers that will pick us up. Then need to decide which is best route to get from Three Rivers to Los Angeles.

Where is Three Rivers?
Take Amtrak. SF to Hanford, which is right outside of Visalia. This will probably be a bus/ train combo. Use Amtrak Hanford to LA.
Ok - I googled it. Out beyond/east of Fresno/Visalia - about 4 and a half driving hours from SF (assuming no traffic hassles).

No idea about train or bus - but you should be able to get to Fresno fairly easily with public transportation - but from there to 3 Rivers? Just google away - and also check out transportation from Fresno.
Same with getting from 3 Rivers to LA. If you get back to Fresno/Visalia - I would think it would be the easist - or perhaps down to Bakersfielda and on to LA LA Land.
OK - good work Michelle.
