San Francisco Oct 1-4: Three Perfect Days?

Hi All - My husband and I are traveling to San Francisco next weekend to see the Giants/Padres games. I am looking for suggestions on what to do, restaurants, etc.

Logistics:
We are early 50's and love to walk.
Flying in Friday early morning, departing Monday early morning.
Games are Friday night, Saturday afternoon, Sunday afternoon.
No rental car but are okay with public transportation.
Staying at they Hyatt Regency Embarcardero.

If you had friends coming into town, what would you take them to see/do?
Thanks! Shari

The game Saturday is at 6:05 (which is good -- gives you all day to sight-see).

First thing's first -- on Saturday morning, do not miss the Ferry Building Farmer's Market. It's right across the street from your hotel, and it's what NY Magazine referred to once as the "granddaddy of them all". The permanent shops inside are great, too.

After the Ferry Building, I would walk along the Bay toward Fisherman's Wharf, then climb some of San Francisco's famous stairways. I'd wander around Chinatown and North Beach, and maybe hit Coit Tower (although I'd just look at the [free] ground floor murals inside). Walk down a staircase from Coit Tower and back to your hotel for a rest, then walk to the game.

My DH would think that 3 games in San Francisco itself would consitute a perfect 3 days

If we win 2 out of 3 (at least), it will be ("perfect" that is)

sf7307: I just received an email from StubHub that the Saturday game was moved to 1:10 in the afternoon. AT&Y Park is still honoring all evening tickets (I would hope so) but no refunds. ?????

You are right!! I'm so glad we had this "conversation".

Well then, I'd go to the Ferry Bldg in the morning, and then walk to the game. Everything else I said to do on Saturday, I'd do on Friday

For me three perfect days would have to include one lunch or brunch at Waterbar, on the Embarcadero. Outside if the weather is good.

Views are fantastic, and it's on the way from the OP's hotel to the ballpark. Food is okay, but very overpriced IMHO. So I'd just have a drink, unless someone else is paying

What about AT&T Park food? I want to get the full Giants experience. What should hubby and I NOT miss when stuffing ourselves at the ballpark? We have three days to get in a good variety. Are there items that we should avoid?

The food at the park is great as far as ballpark food goes. Very very popular -- the Cha-Cha Bowl at "Orlando's" behind the outfield bleachers, the Evergood sausage cart on the Promenade level (these are the best hot dogs in the stadium IMHO), a lot of people like the crab sandwiches at Crazy Crab Wharf (I don't like crab sandwiches, so can't opine), we had a good chicken cheesesteak (minus the cheese) the other day at a stand across from Orlando's. Then there's the fabulous garlic fries, if you don't mind a little indigestion with your ballgame. And if you're so inclined, the Irish Coffee at the Cable Car Bar cart is great.

If you're interested in an out-of-park pre-game eating experience, you could stop at Amici's (excellent thin-crust pizza), or MoMo's (good food, but most people are there for the drinks on the outside patio), or Pete's Tavern (sports bar) all on King Street within a block of the stadium.
