San Francisco hotel choice

I posted earlier asking about this. I am now trying to choose between Hyatt Regency Embarcadero, Park Central Sheraton and Sir Francis Drake. I have looked at the transportation maps and think Park Central or Hyatt look best for public transport. I have read that cable cars are not the best way to go except for the experience. Which of these hotels have the best location? Thanks

Of the three I'd prefer the Hyatt for the views (amazing).

After many trips to SF, last time stayed at Hyatt Embarcadero, and it will now probably be my #1 choice. Easy for Bart between SFO and there, and easy transportation everywhere else.

I have never heard of the Park Central Sheraton - where is it located? (Regardless, you can't go wrong with the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero for transportation options)

The Hyatt Regency is also just 2 short blocks from a restaurant that we like very much, One Embarcadero. The hotel lobby (up the escalator) is stunning.

Clarifying, I assume Underhill means One Market (One Embarcadero is an office building). There are a number of very good restaurants near the Hyatt Regency.

Another vote for the Hyatt. I get more "disgusted" with the Union Sq/Powell St "scene" as the years go by.

Stu, have you been on Drumm Street across from the Hyatt Regency lately? It's gross.

Agree that the Hyatt is good choice. The Ferry Building is right there as is the Embarcadero BART station, Yank Sing is just a quick stroll away too.

Yes, One Market: thanks for the correction. It's across from the Ferry Building.

Well everyone is for the Hyatt it seems. Sheraton park central is on third st FYI. Underhill what is the name of the restaurant? I have waited too long for reservations at Kokkari Stu. What about Slanted Door. I could get reservations there? Also is Johns Grill worth going to. Just wanted to go there for the falcon effect but not if food is not good. Any other restaurant suggestions? I am thinking the best ones are booked up since I will be going next week but I can try.
Thanks to all of you.

Tadich Grill, seafood restaurant est. 1849, walking distance from the Hyatt. Cioppino, petrale sole and sand dabs are usually the way to go there. Another old school Italian place is Original Joe's at their new location in North Beach. As you might guess I tend to favor long established places.

Got it - that hotel has been re-badged a number of times over the years. It's also in a very good location for walking and transportation (if you search for it on Google Maps, you can see where Muni and BART stops are in relation to the hotel). It's near a terrific park (Yerba Buena Gardens), and close to good restaurants and MOMA (also the convention center should that be of interest)

The name of the restaurant is One Market, and it gets several knives and forks in the Michelin Guide. The ambience is lovely and the service excellent.

Just FYI
stayed at Hyatt Embarcadero. Nice room with bay view. Good location. Very expensive - tech convention in town. They even had a cruise ship in to accommodate some of them is what we were told.
Johns Grill very good. Scomas in Sausalito and wharf excellent. Slanted Door ok but food was "dry". Would not eat there again. Very loud too
