How much per night are you thinking about paying? [Total per night, including taxes etc ] that will help with suggestions.
The Villa Florence on Powell, 1 block south of Union Square has double double rooms beginning about $120 plus tax. (San Francisco hotel taxes seem steep to me.)If you select this hotel, be certain to get an interior room. I think it would be impossible for toddlers to nap with the cable cars going by.
Incidentally, this hotel is only a short walk from the kiosk where you can get "Muni-Passes." These are a particularly good deal as they provide unlimited access on all the San Francisco municipal transport, including the cable cars which have a fee of $5.00 each way for adults.
I need to pay 1500 dollars for the three days for all of us
Carocamarasa, type San Francisco hotels into the search forums box at the top of the page, there are many threads to look at.
Are you all going to share a room or are you planning to get two rooms?
Oh wait, there's 6 of you! So, two rooms or 3?
If I were traveling with this many people, I would find a nice apartment. It would be less expensive than booking 2 or 3 hotel rooms and would have much more space. It will probably include a kitchen and possibly a washing machine and dryer.

Check with the old classic - the Westin Saint Francis - and they may hav suites also that can handle your family.

Columbus Motor Inn is a good family hotel if you have a car to park (parking at other hotels can be $40 and $50 per night). It's in the fun North Beach neighborhood walking distance to the Wharf, and easy to get to Union Square from here. Most of the "family attractions" are not in Union Square anyway.
If you want Union Square, HotelCarltonSF has been having some very good special rates.
My favorite is the Hotel Monaco, although their reservation system switches me over to the Hotel Serrano when I try to enter 2 adults and 4 kids.
It may be a better idea to get two rooms - and ask for connecting rooms or get an apartment via VRBO.
Stayed at the Westin St. Francis last month. While the location is great and public rooms beautiful, the hotel rooms are just OK. The room was very dusty, pictures on wall had dried liquid on the glass (it was gross) and the bathroom lighting was so poor that I had to put my make-up on in the bedroom. Touch anything in the minibar and it will be put on your hotel bill. They will however place a mini fridge in your room for no extra cost.
My son loves the Handlery Hotel on Union Square.
