San Francisco - romantic restaurant

Where would you tell me to go to celebrate my husband's birthday? Looking for a nice atmosphere, good food and still pocket concious.

thanks

epaulino,

Can you be a little more descriptive with pocket conscious?

eg $30 pp + tax, booze & tip? or is that $60 per person? or is that $125 per person?

All can be had, tho to a certain extent you get what you pay for.

my favorite romatic place is fairly off-beat. It is Cafe Jacquline on Grant Ave. It is a lovely, small, souffle restaurant. Most people order a small first course or soup & salad and then share one of their great souffles (chocolate, lemom, grand marnier, etc) You will get out for a lot less than you have budgeted!

Candlelit, small and great souffles! You can get the dessert souffles and eat from the same dish..the grand marnier or the fresh rasberry is sublime! There are green salads to order as well. Afterwards, you can stroll around North Beach. This was a great suggestion..I fell in love over a souffle at Cafe Jacqueline!

epaulino== I love the 5th Floor Restaurant in the Palomar Hotel- located on the 5th flr....

It has romantic little cubbies that are curtained off and very private and romantic--- Make sure you request one of the curtained areas.....

The food is some of the BEST in SFO!!!

We had a very romantic, wonderful 18th anniversary dinner at Zare' on Sacramento St. The service was wonderful, dinner delicious - can't wait to return!
