San Diego travel book

I will be spending 2 weeks in SD in October. I want to read up before I go. What travel book(s) do you suggest I buy and/or websites I should look at. Thank you!

Thank you so much happytrailstoyou and DebitNM.
I confess, this is not last minute preparation on my part. I did buy a guidegook, Frommers I believe, a couple of months ago and I did cruise the net and print stuff out. I put all of this in a 'safe place', only to find my 17 year old, senile Kitty cat using the book box as a litter box. I'm not making this up, I swear!
Thanks again for your help!

I have a 9 page word document that I compiled when we went. I would be happy to share it with you. Email me if you're interested.

Thanks TahitiTams!
Basically, there are 4 of us. Low 50-ish. two couples. We'll be staying in a condo on Mission Blvd.
One of the couples is coming all the way from Ireland. They want to play golf, and are open to all kinds of cuisine. They're bringing their own golf clubs and we'll have rental cars.
They are seasoned travelers and have visited other sun spots in the U.S. They are also gracious, hospitable folk and I want them to have a fabulous time.
They are not averse to the odd museum trip or scenic tour. They are flexible.
I'm leaving work now, but I'll check back.

Thank you very much, TahitiTams for your extensive list. I have actually forwarded the list to my Irish couple. And I told them that it was from a native San Diegan!
Thanks again!

gshandle

Would you be kind enough to report back on how the condo was? Always looking for first hand information on places to stay in San Diego. Do you have a web site?

What a terrific thread this is.

SandyBrit, here's the website for the rental company: sandiegosunsetvacationrentals.com
I'll report back on the state of the actual condo upon my return.
