San Diego, mission valley

I wrote regarding my trip to San Diego a few weeks ago. We are heading there tomorrow and I'm putting one last posting on this website. My friend will be staying at the Marriott in Mission Valley. If we drive to her hotel are there any places in her hotel area worth dining at for a midday meal or happy hour. We are staying in Little Italy and we always eat in that area. But maybe it's time we branch out a bit so I was wondering if there's any Worthwild spots near her hotel in Mission Valley. We will only have tomorrow afternoon and evening to visit with her so any suggestions would be appreciated

Lazy Dog is a chain restaurant at the Westfield Mall across the street from her hotel, food is surprisingly decent. I don't know if they have a happy hour.

The Smoking Goat at North Park has a happyhour from just 5 to 6pm nightly, just a few food items but they're very good:

Oops, just noticed that the Smoking Goat Happy Hour is Mon-Fri only.

Casa Guadalajara has a mariachi band starting at 6 on Sundays, go at 5 so you can enjoy your conversation before the music livens the place up.

Head over to Coronado and have happy hour at Brigantine. They have a nice HH menu, and some of the best Margaritas I have ever had. You can take a stroll on the beach afterwards, and chat.

How far is she feom the Del? First she should connect with you in Little Italy. Then all of you either take the ferry/bus to the Del or drive there, Uber, etc.

From Little Italy to Coronado...

1.
You'd have to take a bus or cab to the foot ferry on the Embarcadero and then walk/taxi the mile or so to the Del or Brigantine (these two places are roughly near each other around 10th and Orange Ave).

2. I would recommend renting a car and drive from either Little Italy or Mission Valley directly to Coronado. This is about a 15 (or less depending on traffic) drive.

If you go fairly early you can walk around the Del (go downstairs where they have a little historic museum of the Del built in 1888). You can also walk on the beach or watch the sun set.

Should clarify ... Use your rental car if you already have one or take a cab if you don't. If the fastest way to get into the island.
