San Diego Honeymoon

I am looking into San Diego as an option for our September honeymoon and would love some advice on where to stay. I'd like something close to the ocean, but not necessary. We would like some pampering and lots of amenities.

Thank you,
Melinda

You have a great choice of lodgings, including the Hotel del Coronado, but for the more offbeat, here is something I found when researching San Diego for a family trip in March: San Diego Yacht & Breakfast, in which you stay on a boat all to yourself. It sounded pretty interesting. It was highly rated in a Fodor's or Frommer's book. The website was <www.yachtdo.com>.

one of my favorites is the catamaran. one side of the hotel faces the bay which is lovely to walk around. it is only a block from the ocean so you can walk over for the sunsets and the pool area is really nice. they have a pretty good bar in their too if you felt like dancing one night.
or, if you want a place with a kitchen, book the upper floor of one of the houses on south mission beach.

I would recommend the Four Seasons Aviara, which is in Carlsbad, somewhat close to the beach. Another option is the Lowes Coronado, which is very nice and the beaches in Coronado are probably the best in San Diego. Both hotels would provide tons of amenities and lots of pampering.
