San Diego Family Reunion Planning
My husband and I are hosting a family reunion in San Diego this summer. We will soon be going to San Diego to find a host hotel, inexpensive-to-moderate restaurant with a banquet room for a group dinner for 60-70 people, and a picnic site we can reserve (with toilets and picnic tables). Would appreciate any input anyone might have on these topics -- or any other suggestions.

hi Vanne, a few years ago I helped organize a group gathering in San Diego and we used the Best Western Island Palms for the host hotel. It worked out really well, its a very nice hotel and our rate was around $99 but that was in March, so maybe it would be a bit higher now. The location is gorgeous and the group was very happy there.
I have a friend who has a family reunion every year at Mission Bay park mentioned above. They do a big picnic and bocce ball tournament.
I don't know what you mean by moderate, but if the budget allows, Humphrey's By the Bay (next to Best Western Island Palms) can serve groups. It may be too pricey but it is worth looking into, as they have really good food there. It would be fun to do something like fish tacos, if you can find a place that can do that size group. The Brigantine has good fish tacos, and they can do groups.

For my group, we rented a space and had a caterer that fed us wonderful Mexican food, but that is probably more work than you want to get into
