Any advice on puchasing baseball tickets for September at Petco Park for San Diego Padres? Should we purchase in advance or purchase day of game? Do games get sold out?

It depends on how the Padre season goes. Tonight is the very first game in Petco and it is a sellout. Since this is a brand new stadium, I think they will have a lot of sellouts this year. I would suggest to be on the safe side to purchase the tickets in advance.
They've already sold more season tickets than ever before. I think it would be wise to buy tickets in advance, especially if your choice of dates is limited. I'm sure not all games will be sold out, but you wouldn't want to be disappointed.
