san antonio tx riverwalk parking

If you don't stay at a hotel on or near the riverwalk. is there parking available somewhere very nearby to come and see it, etc.

exactly why would you stay on the walk or not? attractions there?

There are several large public parkding garages next to and within a couple of blocks of the Riverwalk. Very easy to find.

Unless I'm there on business and need to stay elsewhere, the Riverwalk is simply a unique experience, fun, with lots of good restaurants and great for people watching. And if you're ON the Riverwalk, it's really convenient.

When I just go in for a day visit I take the Alamo exit (Houston Ave.?) and park close to the Alamo near the large Fire Station. There are many parking lots in that area and it is very convenient to walk to the Alamo, then cross the street and enter the Riverwalk through the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Staying overnight on the Riverwalk makes it more accessible and convenient, but if you plan to do Sea World, Fiesta TX, the zoo or other things it is not necessary to stay right there.

any particular end of riverwalk more convenient to the boat trip, less noisy. (maybe they contradict each other).

When I have stayed on the Riverwalk it has been at either the Drury Inn or the Holiday Inn. Both are close to each other and neither was noisy. We took a boat tour but really spent most of the time walking around. There are different places on the Riverwalk to get the boat tour.

We always park on top of the Mercado and then walk to the river- it is about 10-15 blocks, but not a bad walk. After you park, you can go downstairs and cross the street, and enjoy dinner at Mi Tierra or La Margarita (MUCH better than the Mexican places on the riverwalk!) Be sure to go through the Mercado-lots of cool stuff.
Enjoy!
