There are always nice lights strung along the Riverwalk.

Take a ride on a boat.
San Antonio is over 170 miles from Corpus Christi - South Padre Island area. You might want to visit Port Aransas for your beach getaway.
Hard to know what the weather will be like. We went to San Antonio in mid December 2008 and 2007. In 2007, it was very warm but it was sweater weather in 2008. Best to be prepared for both as well as rain.
Bookmarking - we are thinking about going after Christmas for a night or two.
