We are thinking about staying in San Antonio in Jan. Looking for an upscale hotel or inn on the riverpark with a nice pool. Also wondering about how long to stay. We will be traveling on to Cancun and could spend extra time there. Thanks

San Antonio is nice but I would spend the time in Mexico!!! Hilton Palacio del Rio (our favorite) and the Marriott Riverwalk are just two of he nicest places to stay. Have fun!! Lee in Austin,Tejas
Weather in Texas during winter is quite unpredictable, but it is probably safe to say that it will be too cool for swimming in San Antonio unless you can find an indoor pool. San Antonio is a neat place to visit, and a weekend is about the right length of time to see the city.
Some of the nicer places on the Riverwalk:
La Mansion Del Rio
Hyatt
Hilton
The Menger (1 block off)
The Crockett (1 block off)
Wyndham St. Anthony (1 block off)
