Hello,
I am planning to go to Utah during thanksgiving weekend......to enjoy some snow.

Any advice on where to go? how's snow in november? any secret family spot/area? where is better to stay? salt lake city? or park city?
I am planning this from scratch...any help would be appreciated
Salt lake city or park city for family with 2 year old?

Hi Trav,
Are you coming for the 4 day weekend? Are you wanting to ski?
Snow at Thanksgiving has been iffy the last two years. Normally, the ski resorts will be open with enough snow for decent early season skiing. Snow usually gets really good just in time for Christmas holidays. The last two years, we have had BIG snow late into April.
As I write this, many of our campgrounds in the high altitudes of the Uinta Mountains east of Park City are still not open (for the 4th holiday even) due to snow.
There are some activities fun for small children in downtown SLC. A children's museum, a zoo.
I think you would have more fun in Park City. Much more to do and see and your lodging would be very nearby to most things so having a little one along would be easier. Many condos in all price ranges and locations to choose from, plus the usual hotels.
You might look at this web site, it's very good with lots of links to all things for visitors to Park City. www.parkcityinfo.com
With a two year old, Salt Lake might be better. It will be warmer for just walking around. And there is more for toddlers to do--easier to manage for mom/dad. (I have a 6 and 4 yr old) You can always drive up to see snow or ski (in the canyons or to Park City--30 minutes max)
In Salt Lake City here are some activities for little ones: The Childrens Museum at the Gateway is AWESOME.
Redbutte Gardens is a good place to let little ones run off steam and they have a cute childrens garden.
The zoo isn't bad.
This is the Place State Park is probably over a 2 year old's head but if it is a warm (50-60) day, they have pony rides there and fun crafts plus 2 different trains to ride!!
The Museum of Ancient Life in Lehi is a great dinosaur museum--my kids love it.
You can also sled at Sugarhouse Park and there are some great playgrounds at Sugarhouse or Liberty Park.
The Tracy Aviary is good fun if kids like to watch birds.
Temple Square turns on all the lights Thanksgiving weekend and people go to see those--they are beautiful but dress really warmly.
Thank you so much for your info. You guys helped me lots to make decision
