Hi everyone,
To begin a big roadtrip of the US, we're going to Cleveland, OH to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...
We've heard that Cleveland has a pretty bad crime rate, so we're wondering if anyone knows of a good place to stay that's safe and close to the Hall of Fame and hopefully under $100 USD per night?
Thanks!
Safe, touristy place to stay in Cleveland, Ohio?

How many hours are you going to spend at the R&RHOF?
If you left before 5PM you might head for Sandusky or Erie PA.
There may be safe places in Cleveland but I wouldn't want to guess which ones.
Where are you arriving from?
Unfortunately, we're coming from New York, so from the PA side. After a 7 hour+ drive from NYC, we were thinking of staying somewhere around Cleveland, and then going to the R&RHOF the next morning / day, before heading to Sioux City.
What about an area outside of Cleveland that's within say 30 mins of the hall of fame but still safe?
The Hall of Fame opens at 10AM-http://rockhall.com/visit-the-museum/plan/getting-there/
To stay close try Euclid. If you are coming in on I-90 you could stay at the Peach Street exit in Erie and leave at 8AM and be there when the Hall of Fame opens.
If you are coming off I-80, there are several "Heights" to look at.
Hi JessieMJ,
I felt pretty comfortable walking around downtown Cleveland, the University Circle and Ohio City neighbourhoods; quite charming in places. I think you'll have more fun if you're centrally located; I don't see any reason to stay half an hour outside of the city. I think the Comfort Inn Downtown you could get for under $100/night. The Brownstone Inn Downtown where I stayed was a terrific Victorian B&B (I paid under $100/night) if you like that sort of thing.
Best wishes, Daniel
There are several national brand hotels in downtown Cleveland that would all be safe to stay at. To get a lower rate in very safe areas, try Beachwood or Independence. Each are less than 30 min away. I would not stay in Euclid.
