Safe at night walking from Lanaux Mansion in NOLA?

Jump to last reply

I've read great things about this B&B, located just across the street from the French Quarter (at the corner of Rue Charters and Esplanade Avenue). In terms of daytime walking expeditions, I think it's easy to get anywhere within the Quarter. My one major worry, though, is about nighttime safety. I'm wondering if walking from the Bourbon Street jazz clubs and restaurants in the vicinity late at night are safe. From what I can remember of my trip to NOLA many years ago, as you walked East on Bourbon Street, it got darker and more deserted. I may also be remembering it wrong, since it was so long ago, but is that true? I really don't want to take a cab every night. Anyone know?

Thanks,

Annie
