Planning a 7-10 day RV trip to the Black Hills, Mt Rushmore, etc. Can anyone suggest a starting city that might have RV rentals? (Rapid City doesn't seem to offer many options). Will be arriving from NYC.

The drive would be longer, more miles and more time, but did you consider Denver or Minneapolis?
In addition to this forum, try going to www.rv.net and asking on that forum. They will probably have an answer for you as everybody there is into rv's.
If you don't mind starting from the west side, there is an excellent RV Rental company in Billings, MT, Pierce RV www.piercerv.com . They offer an excellent fleet & service!
Then go to www.lightninrv.com and then go to "Rentals" in the menu on the left. Once there, scroll down to our "Special Events Calendar" for hundreds of events going on all year long...all over the country, with several listed in the area that you're going. But, don't just look at it for the time period that you're going, as the locations listed are great to visit almost all year long.
Then scroll down to "Travel Links" for more ideas of things to see/do than you'd have time to do! There are also many helpful links to help make your trip go smoothly. Our website is designed with "Road Trip" in mind.
