Hi,
Does anybody have any real advice as to which hotel is better on Waikiki? I am trying to decide between The Ali tower at the Hilton Hawaiian Village And the Royal Hawaiian Sheraton Resort.

Mahalo Elizabeth! Good work with the multiple postings for each question you have, it helps saturate the board with promotion...er...information about our favorite vacation spot, beautiful Hawaii!!
Now, as you know, I'm not a travel agent, but I just happen to know that the Ali Tower burned down last week, so I recommend the Hilton. Don't do a news search for it the web, just take my word. I heard that the owner wouldn't cough up the kickbacks...er...extra towels that the guests wanted anyway, so it's probably just as well that it burned. What good is it if everyone can't get a little piece of the pie, right?
E-mail me for more info, even though I'm not an agent, and keep right on posting all the individual posts!! I'll answer every one of them for you! Mahalo!
MissMaui must have been smoking some of that Maui Wowie.
Last time we were there (and it was a while ago!), we stayed at the Royal Hawaiian. We really enjoyed it because of it's locale and because of the history it exudes. We liked that we were able to have a special place on the beach as it gets VERY crowded. I still am not over paying such a high price for a cup of coffee though!Sorry no experience with your other hotel.
I see miss maui is just one of those ???? that knows nothing because if he/she/it did they would know the ali tower is part of the hilton. Now to answer the ? as best I can, the royal hawaiian is an older hotel in the heart of waikiki beach &is said to be very nice, the hilton hawaiian village is at the quiter end & is the only resort type hotel in waikiki, we have never stayed at either but both look very nice when we seen them 10/31-11/7/2000 we stayed at the outrigger reef which is the next hotel to the east & loved it. If you are traveling with kids the hilton might be a better bet,if not take your pick.
We stayed in the Alii Tower of the Hilton and it was very nice. You have your own pool, concierge service, morning paper, tv in the bathroom, thick robes, ocean front view, small bottles of liquere and Godiva chocolates on your pillow along with orchids. Oh wow, I want to go back....
