Room With Balcony and Ocean View: $250-$300
We have booked a cruise for January, 2017, and we would like to spend a few days in Florida after the cruise. We have been to Florida several times, covering every inch of coast including the panhandle. This time we would just like to be quiet for a few days.
Where in southern Florida (east or west coast) might we find a room with balcony and ocean view at $300 a night or less, including tax?

If you want really quite then stay out of here (Fort Lauderdale) unless that room is directly on the sand (sorry but my guest room isn't available) and away from all the other visitors.
I, personally, would go over to Sanibel or Captiva and prices there, as here, vary from establishment to establishment and the type of place (cottage, condo, hotel room, etc.)
I am sorry I cannot make a specific rec but you should be able to reserve things now for next January.
Enjoy your stay.

That is allowed. Don't know why.
From the Joining FAQ:
"If you represent a commercial business (e.g., travel agency, hotel, airline) or charitable organization, please post the URL to the relevant site in your member profile instead of linking to it in your posts."

thursdaysd, you're right, it just annoys me that advertisers skirt the rules by posting inane comments on otherwise useful threads , I assume in the hopes of getting us to click on their profile and see the link to their business.
