Hi - I am planning a tour company trip in the spring and will be traveling by myself. I am looking for someone to hook up with to share the hotel rooms so as not to pay the single occupancy fees. I am a 58 year old female and would be looking for another female of any age. I don't think I can give the name of the tour, but I will provide details if interested. Thanks.

Not that I'm interested personally, but wouldn't it make sense to at least tell us where this tour goes, when it is, basic price range, and how long?
Someone might be interested in a two week New England tour, but that doesn't mean they would be in a 6 week Alaska tour.
Does the tour company automatically charge you a single rate? Not all of them do. Some will only charge it if you choose to have your own room, otherwise they will pair you up with another single traveller of the same gender. If they have an odd number of people, one lucky person gets their own room without paying the supplement. However, there are also those tours who insist you pay a single supplement if you're on your own. Have you checked this?
I remember a post or two here though, I think both were about OAT tours. It seems that they accept single reservations and will charge a supplement for that, but when they don't have a second person to put you with they often cancel the single person out in favor of taking a couple. It's left a number of people at the last minute with canceled planned trips.
