Romantic Weekend Away from NYC

Hi,

I'm hoping someone out there has a good recommendation for a weekend trip away from NYC. I'm looking for a hotel/resort/inn with the following:

- A nice spa
- An outdoor pool or beach access
- Good dining
- 3 hours or less driving time from NYC, would consider slighty more
- Budget of $300 or less per night

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

My wife and I went to a wedding on the North Fork of LI last September. We had a really nice stay at the Greenporter hotel in the town of Greenport.

The wineries along the North Fork were great.

We liked the Greenporter, but there are other options nearby.

When we were young, the family would summer in the Hudson Valley at the Mohonk Mountain House.
Haven't been in quite awhile, but I remember it was stunning.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are figured into the room rate, as a typical American plan.
Something to check out..2-3 hours from NYC.

Very few of the places listed so far are under $300 night on weekends (assuming you mean summer)
Mohonk is easily $400-500+ Not sure about the romantic part either, though it may be for some.
Mayflower Inn starts at around $700 per night, I think

You can get a room at the Greenporter below $300 in the summer.
