Road trip out west
My husband and I will be driving from Alabama on a road trip out west in the Fall. The places we are definitely planning on going are Phoenix, The Grand Canyon, and Sequoia National Park. We are also going to visit his sister who lives about 1 hour north of Phoenix.
We have considered also driving through Hoover Dam, Las Vegas, and possibly through Denver Colorado on the way home.
I am asking for any tips on this trip, must- see places in that area and if our main spots are even possible to visit for a NINE-TEN day trip. Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful.

Looks like your first post. Welcome to Fodor's!
In a word, no. You'd need to be driving 9-10 hours per day with virtually no time to visit anything. As this would be in the fall, you'd also have shortening daylight hours to contend with.
My recommendation would be either to extend the time available - I'd say a minimum of three weeks - or fly to Phoenix or Las Vegas and do a much more limited loop using a rental car.

I live in North Florida and spend a lot of time in Sedona. It takes me four full days each way to drive there. The Grand Canyon is more than three hours north of Phoenix and there's a lot of construction on the way. Tack on 6 to 8 days of travel for starters and you'll see why it's impossible. There is so much to see and do in Arizona, don't rush through!
