Road trip in either Idaho,Montana or Wyoming.
Hello all,I've got 10 days in mid June next year, and would like to do a road trip in one of these 3 States:Idaho,Montana or Wyoming.
Can only do 1 State though, which one of the 3 is the most beautiful to visit?
Would really appreciate your comments.
Many thanks.

The most visited attractions in these states are Glacier NP in Montana and Yellowstone NP in the NW corner Wyoming. They are about 400 miles apart--much closer than Montana's western border is to its eastern border.

I grew up in rural Wyoming. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, obviously, but have to say there are plenty of "beautiful" areas in the state besides the usually, and sometimes solely-mentioned Yellowstone National Park.

I agree with Dukey. I just returned and enjoyed the time out of the parks as much as I did visiting YNP and GTNP. My brothers are going back out in a couple of days to spend ten days and will never get close to a national park. A lot of people go to Glacier, Yellowstone and/or Grand Teton but there's so much to see that's beautiful. I'm still not sure why you have to confine yourself to one of three states but I'd pick Montana - if I had to choose.

I once met a woman who went to Cusco but didn't bother to go to Machu Picchu. I think she must have been stoned.
Anyway, you could follow her example and go to scenic places east and south of Yellowstone NP and Grand Teton NP and skip the parks. That wouldn't be my advice, but you could do it.

Fly to Spokane Washington. Rent a car there and drive to Coeur d' Alene and spend a night in Idaho. See the lake.
Drive from there to Whitefish Montana. See what you want to see of Glacier NP. Drive to either Gardiner MT or some destination inside Yellowstone (NW Wyoming).
After you've seen Yellowstone, drive back through a different part of Idaho to get back to Spokane.

I would center such plans around Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and spend the whole time in what would basically be the northwest corner of Wyoming.
Google images should give you plenty of reasons to support this idea.
