Road trip from San Diego to San Francisco with kids
HI!!! I would really appreciate advise, my husband and I want to do a road trip from San Diego, CA to San Francisco, CA with our three kids ages 10, 12, 13. We would like to complete the road trip in 8 days any suggestions or itineraries would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I think you should concentrate on the Central Coast. Maybe a few days around Pismo Beach. Then head up to Monterey and take in some hiking and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Santa Cruz Boardwalk would be fun. Then finish up with at least 2 or 3 days in SF.

With only 8 days you have time for 3 days San Diego (avoid Comic-Con Jul 20-23 with over 100k attendees), 3 days SF and 2 overnight stays driving a combo of 1 and 101 due to closure of the 1 just north of Big Sur Station. Maybe stay overnight in Pismo Beach and Monterey.

What activities do the kids want to do? Disneyland? Universal Studios? Legoland? The San Diego Zoo or Wild Animal Park (pick one the Zoo will be cooler during the summer, it's in a better area but WAP has "Snore and Roar" a sleepover for the family... (check your budget)
