Road Trip from Myrtle
Any reccomedations out there for a road trip from Myrtle Beach? I am going down to visit family and my boyfriend and I are looking for a fun way to get away for an overnight 1or2 with our rental car. If you have a particular favorite itinerary with stops along the way..that's what we're hoping to try.
Thanks!

No real "road trip" ideas come to mind.
A good overnight would be Charleston.
If you want a change of pace, I'd head to the mountains - Asheville or Boone, NC or areas around. It would be a 5-6 hour drive to get up there though - but gorgeous if you choose to do it.

Charleston would definitely be a great overnight. Wilmington NC would make for a nice day trip also--the waterfront (Cape Fear River) has neat restuarants, coffee houses, galleries and shops.
Not sure it qualifies as a day trip, but you could spend the better part of a day visiting Brookgreen Gardens just south of Murrells Inlet and then satisfy any commerce longings at the shops in Pawleys Island a little further south.
