Road trip from Greenville, SC to Mackinaw, Michigan
We would like to stop in Cleveland, Detroit, Mackinac, Chicago....just don't know places in between that we should see. We have at least two weeks...all adults. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Cedar Point between Cleveland and Detroit is the roller coaster capital of the world. If you are so inclined, it's the best.
The Lake Erie Islands between Cedar Point and Toledo have their charm. You can take jet express boats out for a lunch or dinner.
Frankenmuth, MI between Detroit and Mackinac is a visitors attraction.
Houghton Lake is Michigans largest inland lake. A great spot to get a cabin for a night or two.
From Mackinac toward Chicago, Harbor Springs, Petosky, and Charlevoix are all pleasant cities. The area has orchards and the shore is attractive.
Sleeping Bear Dune outside Traverse City is unique, scenic, and a fun destination.

For something different, after Chicago consider driving to Milwaukee and taking the high-speed ferry across Lake Michigan to Muskegon and the go via Traverse City area to Mackinac. Traverse City area is home to some very nice wineries and, of course, the heart of the Michigan cherry growing region.
There is also a slower ferry further north that ends up in Ludington, MI (Ithink) but I've never been on that one.

With the amount of time that you have, from Detroit, I would cross to the west side of Michigan, being sure to vist Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, Traverse City, the Leelanau Peninsula, Harbor Springs and Cross Village on the way to Mackinaw City.
From Mackinaw, I would cross the Upper Peninsula with stops at Tahquamenon Falls, Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum and Pictured Rocks, before heading to Chicago through Wisconsin.
There are many other things to sprinkle in such as the Soo Locks and Kitch-iti-kipi.
