Riverwalk Restaurant near the Alamo San Antonio

I need a restaurant for 13 adults and 3 children. Mexican or Tex Mex would be fine for August of this year. Not particular, as long as we can rest, talk, relax with a beer/ wine and good food. We would need one where reservations are not required and large enough to accommodate us.

Boudro's has really good food - nice tableside guacamole and prickly pear margaritas. We like Guenther House for breakfast if you need a spot.

While we were in San Antonio a few months ago, a woman working at the desk in our hotel enthusiastically recommended Acenar. The food was so good and the prices were so reasonable that we ate there every day we were in town. I remember especially a large, beautifully prepared Chile Relleno that was better than any I've had in California, Arizona, or New Mexico. The restaurant is at 145 Houston Street--a short walk from Alamo Plaza.

You'll be glad you asked.

Rosario's is another place that gets consistently good reviews; we haven't had a chance to try it, but it's on our list, and friends of ours really like it.

Thank you volcanogirl and happytrailstoyou.
I did call Boudro's to ask if I needed reservations and she recommended yes, a few days in advance. Their menu is reasonable in price for lunch so if we know what time we'll be hitting the area I'll give them a call.
I've been in Houston in August before and I know how hot and humid it is and I know I will not be wanting to walk a lot at that time.

Boudro's is good. If you want BBQ there's a Countyline there also (is that the name SA experts).

There's another spot called Rio Rio that has Tex-Mex; food is not as good as Boudro's IMO, but it's on the river and popular. Fairly inexpensive and probably wouldn't need a reservation.
