Ritz-Carlton Help!

So after our ten day stay at the Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas last summer, we were pleasantly surprised to receive 3 free nights at pretty much any Ritz in the world (Chicago, the second to the closest Ritz to us, excluded). I would love to return to St. Thomas, but my boyfriend thinks the flight would take up too much of the trip's time, so we're trying to stay within (or close to) the U.S. Any suggestions/input about a fabulous Ritz you've experienced would be much appreciated. We might add on a few days, if the travel is too extensive from Michigan. We're considering Key Biscayne, South Beach, Laguna Niguel and Lake Las Vegas. Any input on any of these properties (or any other R-C, for that matter) would be much appreciated. Thanks so much! =)

I also forgot to mention that we would be staying in August, if that's any help.

Loved the Ritz in Naples -- they have golf, spa, beach, 2 beautiful pools, etc. Not sure if Naples is your speed, though.

DON'T go to the Ritz in Naples in August unless you plan on staying in the room the whole 3 days! It is HOT HOT HOT!

South Florida in August? Las Vegas in August? Not for me, but maybe for you. If you want a beach spot in August, pick one of the Cal. locations. I think there are better reviews on tripadvisor in other locations in Ca. than the one in Laguna Niguel.

We stayed at the San Francisco Ritz last summer. Just gorgeous and August would be a nice time to go!

I'm one of the people that don't think South Florida is too bad in the summer. I think it is much worse here in South Carolina.

That said, I would pick the South Beach or Key Biscayne Ritz-Carltons.

I would do the Laguna Niguel Ritz..
August is gorgeous in Southern California and the ocean temps are lovely to swim.
Maybe after your stay you can take the ferry over to Catalina..stay the night and really enjoy Avalon.
The snorkeling is incredible and the town is darling..

I guess I didn't even think twice about the weather- we went to St. Thomas late June/early July last year and while it was incredibly humid and warm, we still had a fabulous time outdoors at the beach, shopping, etc. (and earned a golden tan, even with spf!) I would love to try Laguna or SF, but I'm just thinking the flight would be too long if we wanted to stay just the three days there.. anywhere that had a shorter flight from MI would be appreciated!

definitely the Laguna Niguel Ritz - the property and service is incredible (much better than the SF property)
