Long story short- have 8 days, flying into Hartford, and have to end up in Stowe for the last 3 days, Husband wants to see the car musuem at Hemmings in Bennington, and I want lobster and lobster rolls so was planning on including southern ME,
Realized I have Hyatt points I can use at the Hyatt Place in Mystic, CT so we have decided to spend 4 nights in Mystic, I can get my lobster rolls along the CT coast, and we can also spend a day in Newport and tour the mansions. Have seen the mansions before but they are certainly worth a second visit. We can spend one night in Bennington, see the car musuem there, and then head for Stowe.
Any suggestions for things to see/do while in Mystic, other than Mystic Village, and the Aquarium? Suggestions for scenic drives in the area?

The lobster rolls at Mystic Seaport's Galley are excellent and well-priced at about $14. The seaport itself is a must if you have any interest in maritime history.
Stop at Stonington Borough and walk the streets lined with 18th and 19th century homes.
Head out to Block Island for a day and have another lobster roll.
In addition to the places Fra-Diavlo mentioned:
The Native American Museum at Foxwoods Casino is excellent. Google them for hours before you go as they change seasonally. If you are into casinos both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun are near by.
There is a submarine museum with the Nautalis, first sub to go under the pole in Groton, about 5 miles from Mystic.
The Custom House Museum in New London if you are interested in local history, they also had an exhibit on the Amistad trial a while ago, although recently the ship was docked at the Mystic Seaport , maybe for repairs as that is where it was built.
New Haven is about an hour west, so you could visit any of the museums there.
Also as for lobster, between Mystic and Stonington Borough on route 1 is Cove Fish Market that does a variety of take out as well as lobster and if you go to Noank, you can get lobster in the rough with nice views of the boats going up and down the Mystic River.
