Return from Bradenton FL back to New Haven CT

We're taking the non-95 route back as first week April. What are two good safe stops that will offer hopefully dog friendly hotels? Not necessarily sight seeing as mainly just for overnights before getting back on road. Thanks

We always head for Motel 6s. Believe they all take dogs.

Thanks Bedar. We are interested in towns after Charleston 5-6 hours out with 2 stops before CT. It will be the route along 81 either into rt 84 or over Tappan Zee bridge. Can anyone suggest towns to stop in please? Thanks

Charleston is more like 7.5 hours from Bradenton, but if I understand you correctly you want one night near Charleston and then another stop 6 hours after that?

Near Charleston, the Red Roof Inn in Walterboro has good reviews and has no charge for pet 1, $7 for additional pets. The Econo Lodge is a bit nicer and includes quick breakfast, they accept pets up to 30lbs @ $15 per pet.

It's not clear when or where exactly you want to get away from I-95 and hook up with Route 81.

A better question might be what exactly do you want to avoid, we may be able to suggest a better way than 81 to 84 which is quite a detour.

I believe you can search for pet friendly motels on the web. So look where you want to go and then look for motels.
Non-95 would probably mean heading up 26 and 77 to Charlotte, north to 81 and on toward NYC.
You do the search?
