Retirement in Saint george, Utah or Grand Junction, Co.
Considering these two locations for retirement. Both offer great outdoor recreation and a lower cost of living compared to California. I am seeking omments and votes between the two areas. Thanks!

I would vote for St. George. I've considered retiring there myself. Many people from CA are choosing to retire to St. George, as well as Cedar City, Utah. St. George gets much hotter than Grand Junction in the summer (if you don't like the heat, that may be a problem with St. George.) You won't have to deal with snow in St. George. If you plan on traveling, St. George is only 1.5 hrs from Las Vegas. Grand Junction is 4 hrs. from Denver.

I lived in Utah many years ago and St. George was heavily LDS, and influenced by that culture and mindset. It seemed very clannish then, and someone from the "outside" a "gentile" might not find it to their liking, but I understand that this has changed a lot.
