If you're there on a Sunday, the brunch at the Arlington Hotel is great!
A popular place for seafood is Cajun Boilers. It's very good too! It does have lake access and lots of people drive their boats there.
A more upscale place is the Hamilton House on Lake Hamilton. It's been a while since I was there but it's always been great. Have you tried McClard's Barbeque? It's a must for Hot Springs! Another well-known (and old) restaurant is Mrs. Millers - they have family-style food like fried chicken.
For on the water, nothing beats the Hamilton House.
In town...McClard's is a must do for ANYONE in Hot SPrings
For a laid back "meat and 3" lunch or a good breakfast, try Granny's Kitchen on the other side of the street from Bath-house Row
The Brick House is a casual environment steak house with great service and a great steak.
Do not recommend Coy's at all.
There is a great breakfast place across the street from the Arlington, but forgive me, I cannot think of the name of it.
Is the "Hot Springs"referred to here--Eureka Hot Springs OR "Hot Springs' southwest of Little Rock???
Obviously --I never been to either but may be in the state in Oct. '03..
Melhams...
The breakfast place across from the Arlington is the Pancake Shop. For a place full of tourists, it really feels like a local place. For a good greasy breakfast, don't miss it either.
Unbelievably, some of the freshest Orange Juice I've ever had was in that little pancake shop in the middle of Arkansas.
Retired - these restaurants are in the town of Hot Springs (about 50 miles from Little Rock). Eureka Springs is in NW Arkansas...about 175 miles from Little Rock.
recommend Coy's (pork chops)
Cafe Santa Fe (chain restaurant)
Perkins (for dessert)
do not recommend:
Hamilton House
McClard's
The Brick House
Three Monkeys
German restaurant downtown (name?)
sorry-just remembered that Bella Arte (Italian restaurant) also had really bad service and food a few years ago. I don't recommend going there either.
