Restaurant Recs Near El Capitan Theatre in LA?
My 10 yr old son, 71 yr old mom, and I will be visiting LA next week. We're planning to see a show at Disney's El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Blvd Wednesday night. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good restaurant near (ish) the theatre?
My son is a true San Francisco kid. He's a very adventurous eater and has impeccable restaurant manners. I'm looking for something good, preferably within walking distance. I realize that may not be the neighborhood for such a beast but I'm hopeful that one of you will know of a hidden gem! Mel's and Hard Rock aren't of interest not because we don't like burgers but because I would expect the food to be crap. (if I'm wrong, please let me know!)
Thanks all.

For an old Hollywood experience, consider the iconic Musso & Frank Grill.

Your Mom might love Musso & Franks!
It is a step into Hollywood royalty's past. The days of Frank Sinatra. Dark wood, old waiters, linen tablecloth, martinis.
The food is basic American fare. Not especially healthy, but it's the nostalgic experience you go there for.

I just looked at the menu on-line, and found this interesting:
"Original Fettucini Alfredo $22--
Silent film stars Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford were frequent guests at Musso’s. While on their honeymoon in Rome, they dined at Alfredo’s restaurant and after tasting the Fettucine Alfredo, they begged Alfredo for the recipe. He declined them. The next night the newlyweds again dined at Alfredo’s and presented a golden fork and spoon to Alfredo. This time they got the recipe and brought it back to Hollywood. They asked Musso’s chef, Jean Rue, to make the dish. He often prepared it specially for the famous couple, but the dish was never added to the menu. We now proudly serve the ORIGINAL Fettucine Alfredo as prepared for Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford."
