I had previously requested recommendations for restaurants in the Minneapolis area, and now find the couple will be living in Woodbury. I would like to give a gift certificate as a wedding present and would like restaurant recommendations. They like Thai, Japanese, and seafood, but are not fussy. I would appreciate any help, if there are further recommendations in this area. Thanks.

The Twin Cities metro area isn't so large that a Minneapolis restaurant shouldn't be ruled out, but since you want closer to Woodbury...
Neither Asian nor seafood and it's been a while since I've been there, but the Lowell Inn in Stillwater used to be a great special occasion place. Perhaps someone else can update.
In St. Paul, Pazzaluna is very good.
Haven't been there but here's a new place with good bloodlines and reviews ...

Thanks for the additional suggestions. I will research the options. I have no idea exactly how far it is between the two cities. My first trip to MN will be this summer, and I'm looking forward to it.
You're really only about 20-25 miles from DT Minneapolis so if there's something the lucky couple really like there the distance isn't too daunting.
Chambers Kitchen is a very good option there.

I agree that Mpls is not a big deal to do from Woodbury. The King and I Thai is a treat for anyone who likes thai food. Their food is fresh and absolutely excellent. Warm and spicy. It's on LaSalle and I think once they go, you will find them returning.
The St. Paul Grill is an old favorite of mine. Everything on the menu is done to perfection each and every time. Service is attentive and well timed. This is a great place for a special event.
Zelo's in Mpls is also a pleasant place. The woodfired flat bread is very good and they will accommodate adjustments to the menu. My husband loves their soups. The wine list is good for US based wines and well priced.
Lake Elmo Inn in Lake Elmo-WONDERFUL food/atmosphere and would be perfect for a gift certificate for that "special" occassion. Lake Elmo is sorta between Stillwater and Woodbury.
Pam, the wedding is now past, but we are heading out there this summer. It sounds like a good place to treat them to a dinner. Thanks for the suggestion.
Oops - sorry LoisL!
Sometimes I'm not on the board for a few weeks at a time so I forget to check out dates of postings. Hope you had a wonderful time at the wedding! And please do check out the Lake Elmo Inn when you get a chance - I don't think you'll be disappointed!
Pam
Thanks Pam. I checked out the site, and it looks like a great choice to take our hosts to dinner, while we're visiting.
