Anyone know anything about this hotel. I did a search for reviews and came across a newspaper article discussing a murder that happened in the parking lot of this hotel last year. What I am wondering is if that was normal activity for this area or a chance incident. I am planning an all girls shopping trip and was thinking of staying there and will reconsider if the area is dangerous.
Thanks!

I have not stayed at this hotel but know the area and it is not a bad area. I think this murder was very unusual for Eagan. I would not be afraid there.
Thanks for the reply. Are you also familiar with the Eden Prairie area? Is it safe also? I see that they are participating in a promotion that will get me two nights free with my Marriott Rewards points.
Both Eden Prairie and Eagan are quite safe, but Eagan is much closer to the MOA, if that is where you are headed. The Residence Inn may even have a free shuttle there.
I agree with Sabie that both areas are safe. I know Eden Prairie better than Eagan and like that area very much, however, if you are going to Mall of America and want to be near the airport, Eagan is closer. It is not far to MAO and the airport from Eden Prairie tho. We stay in that area often and enjoy going to different areas in Edina and Minnetonka and also the lakes area of Mpls. as well as MAO and of course in and out of MSP. Enjoy your stay. We just got back from a wonderful stay in MN. Weather was fabulous!!
I've stayed in Eagan, as well, and agree it's a safe area.
