Rental car between Providence, RI and Woodstock CT

I will be visiting Woodstock CT in November. I have transportation between Providence airport and my destination in Woodstock CT, however, I would like a rental car while I am in the Woodstock area. Where would be the best place between the airport and Woodstock to rent a car? Would prefer a Hertz or Enterprise location.

Would also be interested in kayaking. My trip is in November so it may be too cold to go. Just wondering, though, if anyone would have a suggestion.

This is my first posting and I sure hope I did it right! Thank you in advance for anyone's help.

welcome to Fodors

I have only been in that general area a couple of times so no expert and hopefully a local will see your post, but I would think (just a guess) that Worcester Mass is the nearest town large enough to have major/national car rental agencies.

. . . meant to add -- perhaps your best option is to pick up a car at Providence when you arrive and use that instead of your pre-arranged transport.

No need to guess. Google "car rental near Woodstock CT" and you'll see that there are two an Enterprise location about 10mi away from Woodstock.

You can also look on the Enterprise website & find the same locations.

It will be too cold for me to kayak. Your mileage may vary if you are used to kayaking in the Pacific.

I'd guess the Brooklyn, CT Enterprise would be the most convenient.

The site has been putting replies with random posts, Ackislander's obviously belongs elsewhere and one of mine went to another post.
