Reflecting Pool-Washington DC
OMG! I just just heard from a friend that the Reflecting Pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial is under construction!!! I am upset that I won't get to see anything when I am there the first week of October.....Some one please put my mind at ease and say it will still be there! And that it won't ruin my trip!

Uh, no. It's just the reflecting pool you won't see because it's fenced off (at grade level, you will still see it from the steps of the Lincoln).
All the monuments and memorials are still open as usual.

bardo is right, and in fact it would be impossible to "close" all the monuments from view.
I found this photo of the construction:

As the poster says, this ruins some potentially pretty photos of the Reflecting Pool, but you can still see all the monuments. Small bummer, nothing to freak out about.

The dry landscape weirded us out on our biking trip through DC this past weekend, but no worries--the monuments are open for business (and photography). The construction at the reflecting pool is not as picturesque as when the Washington Monument was under scaffolding, but you won't suffer...

Chilegalbeagle, Believe me, once you visit DC you will want to go back again. This will give you another opportunity to see the pool. It is amazing. Maybe visit the Lincoln Memorial at night. The pool is not as obvious at night and you will still be able to get some great pictures either looking at the Washington Monument or the Lincoln Memorial.
