Redwood Grill Vegas question

Hello,

I am trying to pick a nice restaurant in downtown Vegas for my family (4 adults). This restaurant seems to get good reviews. Everyone refers to the "unadvertized porterhouse special". Can anyone tell me what the special is? Is this the place to go for steak?

Thanks!

Lisa

Could you possibly mean the Rosewood Grille?

If it is downtown, it IS the Redwood Bar & Grill in the California Hotel & Casino. (Rosewood is NOT downtown.)

I have heard it is a good value & has good food, although I have never been there myself. There are some reviews under the 'hotel restaurants' link on www.a2zlasvegas.com (the restaurant is listed under California once you click on the restaurants link).

The other good steak place downtown is Binion's Ranch Steakhouse, which I have been to. It is on the top level of Binion's Hotel & Casino, so you get a nice view. Food is very good, but basic (no fancy, off-beat preparations - just good steak), and a bit pricey.

Other nice places downtown are Stefano's (Italian) and Lillie Langtry's (Chinese, but also steaks) in the Golden Nugget. I have heard Hugo's Cellar (in the 4 Queen's) is also good.

Hello, I am a Las Vegas resident. I ate at the Rosewood several years ago before there were so many of the new dining establishments in town. I found it to be packed and overrated. More popular steak dining choices The Palm (my favorite & most expensive) in Caesar's Palace, Mortons, or McCormick's and Schmidts. The Rosewood is somewhat of a local landmark and thus a favorite but as far as taste goes I think the other restaurants would be a better choice. Welcome to Las Vegas.

Hello all:

Yes, I am referring to the Redwood Grill in the Hotel California (downtown).

Has anyone eaten there? What is the unadvertised special?

Thanks.
