Recommendations for four days in Las Vegas
My adult daughter and I are planning a four day trip to Las Vegas next month. We would appreciate any suggestions for budget lodging with good access to the Strip. My daughter has some mobility limitations and may need a wheel chair during our stay. Any suggestions for budget lodging? Does LV have public transportation or shuttles? We would also like to hear your thoughts about not-to-miss attractions and shows. Are wheelchairs available for rental?
Thank you.
Jeff

Casino Royale, a Best Western hotel is centrally located on the Strip. It's between the Venetian and Harrah's, across the street from Caesars, Mirage and Treasure Island. Rates are moderate, but also depend on your dates of stay with weekends being higher.
There are lots of other budget options in Vegas, but location and access could be an issue, especially with a wheelchair.

Las Vegas casinos are sprawling places and there is a long distance between each of them. Crowded sidewalks, heavy traffic, and staircases are some of the hindrances to movement. It is difficult to get from place to place on foot and it must be much more difficult in a wheelchair. This link may give you some ideas: http://www.wheelchairtraveling.com/l...travel-review/

You might want to check out http://las-vegas.hotelscheap.org/ for cheap accommodations! They have some room rates that are pretty suitable for two people staying in one room together. I'm sure there are hotels that also have wheelchair access.

This might not be for everyone, but a good budget option in a great center strip location is Bill's Gambling Hall. Great access to the front door just a few steps from the elevator, too. Our room had a stunning view of the Bellagio Fountains, and we could easily walk to all the major hotels/casinos in the area.

There are many shuttles to and from the airport. For two people a cab is not a lot more money. There are shuttles to and from select casinos.
There are many options for renting an electric scooter.
You really should see at least one Cirque du Soleil show. They are spectacular.
Also go to one fancy meal. Bartolatta's Italian will treat your daughter like a queen.

Bill's Gambling Hall closed up quite a while ago. There is a new boutique hotel opening in that space called The Cromwell. I agree with a PP that the location is excellent, but it may no longer be a budget choice.

Google away and find a deal on a hotel/resort center strip - such as the Flamingo or Bally's or Paris - or the other more higher end ones even have good deals from time to time.
If you feel at ease driving - it might be best to rent a car as all the casinos have free parking and fairly easy access from the garages to the Casinos and you can just drive from Casino to Casino. You do have to pay for parking though - so it might be just as easy to take cabs.
Be sure to see the Bellagio Fountains and their Arboretum - and you could also catch the free monorail to the Aria complex next door.
You could also enjoy the gondola ride at the Venetian, taking the elevator to the top of the Eiffel tower at Paris, and on and on.
So many things to see and do in 4 days and definitely do see a Cirque show.
Also - check the various Tickets4less type places for discounts.

If you have not yet decided on the dates you will be visiting Vegas, you might want to consider the following:
If you book a Strip hotel from Monday through Thursday, you will get exceptionally low rates. You might consider staying in some pretty decent Strip hotels for the price of a hostel elsewhere.
However, if you stay for the weekend, you will pay for two days more than you would pay the other five days.
When we visited Vegas, we stayed at the Strip Monday through Thursday and on the weekend we moved to Saint George in order to visit Zion and Grand Canyon North Rim.
Just a thought.

Thanks so much to all of you for the interesting suggestions. We found some decent pricing at the Monte Carlo, but are also checking out a few mentioned above. A Cirque show, the Eiffel tower, cruising through some of the architectural wonders of Vegas are all on the list.
Your suggestions have greatly simplified planning our itinerary.
