Recommend psychics/medium in Boston/Salem, Mass. Area please!

I will be back in that area next week, and again in November. Can anyone recommend a psychic or medium in that area, someone REALLY good? At the very least, it would just be fun as I've never been "read" before!

They are everywhere, and I've done several. They are expensive. And I've never hit upon anyone particularly "good." However, for atmosphere and entertainment, I'd return to Angelica of the Angels in Salem.

I truly hope this a troll posting! If not, e-mail me and I'll tell you how to send your money directly to me. I'm a lot cheaper and every bit as acurate.

Bug off, dcp -- I foresee a grumpy day ahead of you.....! This isn't meant to be a medical consultation.

What a fun and unique post here! I'd love to see the responses -- hey, Salem, Hallowe'en, whatever? What a great idea for something fun!

I got a reading once, in which her main point was that I was healthy (she looked at my cuticles and saw they weren't blue) and concluded "if ya got yer health, ya got everything." But it was fun to see the set-up, get the tea leaves read (she got the initials of important people in my life right), etc.

Any others? Elvira, surely you.....?

Why not save money and buy a Ouija board instead? Same lame results. (Or, you could call Miss Cleo, I'm sure she'd be glad to take your $$)

Question isn't whether psychics or mediums (media?) are accurate, good, etc. Issue is, some people find it amusing. So question is, where can they go to get a reading?

I don't believe astrology and, frankly, I have doubts about most forms of spirituality except as one can affect one's own, individual situation -- but I do enjoy reading a horoscope for the heckuvik. And I think Tarot is a great, interesting drama with lovely artwork on the cards and interesting syntactic patterns (has similarities to making different sentences by rearranging word-magnets on a refrigerator). I don't consult Tarot to make decisions, although you have to wonder if it would do worse than a stock broker at this point.

Anyway, if you'd pay $7-10 to see Big Giant Lizards 3, Explosions in Space, or Brave Blue-Face with 200 other people, I don't see why you think paying $5-10 to have a one-person spook-show in person is a bigger waste of money.

It's fun, you people. What's your problem? I HATE this phrase but it applies here: lighten up! This is a light post.

Popping back in to say that I wasn't planning to bet my retirement on what a psychic tells me, I just think it would be interesting and fun. Yes, I do think there are people like George Anderson and John Edward who truly have "the gift" but I also think that there's a whole bunch of frauds (like Miss Cleo), etc. Some people feel that something cannot possibly exist if they can't see it or haven't experienced it themselves - boy, are you gonna be surprised! Anyway, anybody from Salem or that area want to recommend somebody? And yes, all, lighten up!! At the very least, I'd be entertained!

Check out http://www.salem.org
I understand that you, like my mother and her friends, are looking for a reading for fun. Hey, why not.
Laurie Cabot is the official witch of Salem (yes, for real) and she does readings at Pickering Wharf in Salem. There are lots of others as well but why not have someone everyone has heard of do it?
There are lots of things to see and I hope you have a great vacation here on the North Shore of Boston. Also www.hauntedhappenings.com should be up soon.

Its because of people like you that actually pay for this silly stuff that I get sick of watching TV in the evenings. Stop encouraging those annoying "psychics" by giving them your hard earned money. Your life is what YOU make of it. If you believe in God, faith doesn't hurt either.

No, this isn't a troll. And it's just for fun.
Go complain to the people gambling in Vegas, buying Powerball tickets, paying $20 for a plate of pasta, or $100 to have their feet rubbed. It's like criticizing someone watching the Miss America Pageant while you're watching a Heavyweight Championship.
GrannyRuth: Laurie Cabot's "office" is dark and hushed and there is always a line waiting just to tour her "shop." It is located on Pickering Wharf. Angelica of the Angels is white lights and new age music. It's right downtown Salem.
Both require appointments, and run about $40 per half hour. They will tape (audio) your session for you.

"Duh," change the channel. That's what I do when I run across those idiotic evangelical programs run by Born-Agains Bores, CashRegister Christians, and Sanctimonious Spiritual "Guides."

Clairvoyant (n): A person, commonly a woman, who has the power of seeing that which is invisible to her client namely, that he is a blockhead.

Divination (n): The art of nosing out the occult. Divination is of as many kinds as there are fruit-bearing varieties of the flowering dunce and the early fool (Ambrose Bierce)
