We are so excited to be planning a trip to Idaho this summer. We plan to stay at Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch for the majority of our 8 day stay. My question is twofold. Should we stay there the whole time or plan to spend a couple of nights elsewhere? If elsewhere, we would love advice on where. We've thought about an overnight rafting trip - can someone recommend a great outfitter? or a backcountry camping trip - again an outfitter would be helpful? Thanks, Catherine

Oh Catherine, I am so excited you will be staying at IRMR. I was there last year with seven friends and we had the absolutely best time of our lives. Have you already seen my trip report? Because of flight times we spent our first night and last in Hailey at the Inn at Ellsworth Estate.
We did a four hour rafting trip which was fine, but the hiking was exceptional. The staff at IRMR is very well equipped to recommend hikes based on current conditions. We found each day relatively challenging.
The food at IRMR was very good, our cabins were comfortable and we loved the hot springs pool.
I topped my report for you. Check it out and let me know if you have any questions you think I could answer. And say hello to Stephanie Knox at IRMR for me. We loved her!
