Quiet, peaceful, reasonably priced restaurant in southern Orange County, CA

Is this for dinner? Don't know if these places fit in your budget, but all are good, small and quiet.

Good question, SCfoodie. It's actually more for lunch. Thanks for the recommendations. I had a feeling that San Clemente might be the mother lode.

There is also a faily new place in San Clemente on Avenida del Mar called The Shore. I haven't been there yet so can't give you a recommendation.

One of my favorite places in the whole world is in San Juan - Ramos House Cafe - only open for breakfast/lunch. A little pricey but here is the link:

I was just in Orange County with my elderly mother, and could have used some of these suggestions, which look great.

We went to a two restaurants with views that are better than the food, but we both had enjoyable meals. One was the Wind and Sea in Dana Point, and we went at 5 o'clock so the restaurant was nearly empty (although the lounge was full) and quiet. http://www.windandsearestaurants.com/windandsea/home.htm

I know this is late, but Ramos House is not quiet at all. The way it's constructed, you can here everyone, and the train goes by every so often. If you like the San Juan area, Cafe Mozart is very nice, and very quiet.

Just thought of 2 more. Sundried Tomato in San Juan, and in Laguna Beach, Las Brisas is a very nice place to "chat" - inside and on their patio. Before 10:30am on Sat's, their brunch is about $15/person.

smfoodie - I have gone to Ramos house on many occasions and always had wonderful conversation. I would hate for someone to not go because they thought it was noisy. Yes, the train goes by on occasion...but it is not distracting imo - it only adds to the amazing environment there.
