Quick Newport Trip Report

Jump to last reply

Went for a long weekend-Sat to Tues. Me my husband and 9m old son.
Stayed at the cleveland house part of a group of inns called the inns of Newport. Did not like it at ALL! The location was great but the place needs a facelift. Our room was not cleaned 2 of the 3 days, breakfast was not tasty at all wound up going to starbucks for breakfast the last two days because the first day was disappointing. We saw 2 other rooms before we choose the room we stayed in and all of them were not very good to say the least.

Mansions were great went to the Elms, Marble house, Breakers and Astors. the Astors was fun because they are in character and pretend they are living back in the times.

Meals- lunch outside at the black pearl, great clam chowder best I ever had.

Brick alley pub, okay food, good for us with our baby but food is just okay. good service and portion sizes.

Red parrot again went there more for the atmosphere with our son. Good food, big menu, sat upstairs on the 2nd floor, better than brick alley pub

Quayhog restaurant- really good food best out of the trip. loved the quayhog appetizer.

next time we are going to stay at the viking hotel, looked fantastic and clean!
