Quick Baltimore Visit Before Flight...Eastern Shore Drive Where To Stop?

Jump to last reply

After a week at Cape Hatteras, we'll be leaving on Sat. June 9 and flying out of BWI on Sun. June 10. Instead of staying with friends in Reston, VA and dealing with DC traffic on Sunday, I decided we'd drive up the Eastern Shore to Baltimore and stay there overnight, allowing us to visit Baltimore briefly before our flight leaves at 2:00 pm.

1. Where should we visit along the Eastern Shore for brief stops? Chincoteague? Annapolis? What other scenic towns would be relatively convenient to the highway?
2. Any suggestions of where to stay that would be reasonably priced for Mom, Dad and two teens (probably two rooms, adjoining if possible) that would give us easy access to the Inner Harbor, maybe Sat. night but definitely on Sunday morning driving in? I'm thinking the outskirts of town would be cheaper than right downtown.

There's usually no issues with westbound traffic across the Bay Bridge on a Saturday, right? Thanks!
